That being said, Brazil is a film thick with bleak humor.. No easy task for any director/writer. It centers around a 'utopia lost' concept, a dismal-looking low-level bureaucrat who only has his dreams to escape to, with cameos of a guerrilla heating-duct repairman (would you have ever guess Robert De Niro?)
The film's angle on the whole Kafka/Orwellian future - ridiculing the ridiculous - is executed brilliantly and was way ahead of it's time.
It's a movie I'll probably watch until I'm sick of and then pick up and watch again a few months later (somewhat similar to my Monty Python's Holy Grail fixation).
Also, does anyone know where I can get me one of these fuckin' incredible retro-futuristic-typewriter-computer??
I'm super happy that the film was such a success, not only with gnomers and I - but with Diego, the ultimate critic.. I'm looking forward to our next movie and projects. Kisses to my missus.
